Mr. Malko

Evgeny Malko—Master of Dance

Evgeny is one of the premier dance teachers in the Sacramento and Bay Area region. He and his students consistently take top honors at regional and national-level Ballroom Dance Competitions. One of Evgeny's students won The U.S. National Championship Title in Pro/Am Silver Scholarship in Orlando, FLA in September 2014. Evgeny graduated from St. Petersburg University with a Masters degree in Ballroom Dancing and Performing Arts. The Russian Federation awarded him the qualifications of Instructor and Choreographer in Creative Arts, Master of Dancesport (Ballroom Dancing and Ballet). Evgeny and his brother have produced numerous dance theater productions. Evgeny has also won a number of Professional Rising Star Championships. Dance magazine once named him and his wife Victoria, "the most promising professional couple” from a Ballroom Championship Competition.





Mrs. Malko

Victoria Malko—Professional Dancer & Choreographer

Victoria is one of the top professional dancers in the United States as witnessed in September 2014 at the U.S. National Ballroom Dance Championships where she and her partner, Mikolaj Chaznecki, were Open Professional Smooth Finalists, finishing in the Top Six in the Nation. She and her student were finalists at the same NDCA Championship Competition in the Pro/Am Senior Open Championships. In July 2014 Victoria and her partner won the Smooth Open Professional Championship at The International Grand Ball in San Francisco. Victoria and her partner placed fifth in the Open to the World Embassy Ballroom Championship in Los Angeles. Victoria is a sought coach whose clients include amateurs, Pro/Am couples and other professional couples. Victoria travels regularly to both compete and to give private coaching sessions and workshops. She is also available for private coaching at our studio.



Monika

Monika Olkiewicz—Professional Dancer & Choreographer

Monika started her dancing career when she was 6 years old in Poland. She trained in Ballet, International Latin, and International Standard Ballroom dancing.She received extensive coaching from Gregory Fidurski of Poland who now teaches in New York City. Monika has more than 20 years of experience in competitive Ballroom and Latin dancing. An up and coming dancer, Monika and her partner placed first in Phoenix Dance Challenge and placed second in San Francisco Open and in City Lights Ball. She has taken numerous students to dance competitions with very good results. At dance showcases, Monika and her students are always favorites since she is able to maximize a student's dancing capabilities. Monika is accepting new students—both for group and private instruction—in International Latin and Standard Ballroom dancing.






Kat

Kat Painter—Dance Instructor

Kat has been teaching country line and couples dancing for more than and couples dancing for more than 15 years. She has also been teaching ballroom dancing for more than seven years. For the last four years, Kat has been the dance instructor at the Rockin’ Rodeo in Sacramento. A member of the championship country dance competition team, Wildfire, for over six years, she is currently Director and Choreographer for the Ropin’ Riders Dance Team, a demo team and newly formed competition team in Sacramento.In the spring of 2010, she received her B.A. in Dance with an emphasis in Choreography. Kat has studied many types of dance, including ballroom dancing, country dancing, folk dancing, ballet, modern dancing, and African-Caribbean dancing. Her studies included anatomy, physiology, kinesiology, how dance movement affects the body and mind, and how dance can be used for exercise and physical therapy.





Cheri

Cheri Ozorak—Dance Instructor

Cheri loves to share her enthusiasm for dance with others and believes that everyone—yes everyone!—can enjoy dance at some level. From youths eager to add ballroom dance to their list of talents, to nervous wedding couples preparing for their First Dance, to older adults looking for a hobby they can enjoy, Cheri embraces the opportunity to inspire people in the sport of partner dancing. Cheri has over 20 years of experience teaching dance, directing and producing showcases and performing. She has competed at national events and teaches all of the American Style Smooth and Rhythm Dances. She also offers lessons in Scottish Dancing, English Country Dancing, Social Dancing, and provides choreography and lessons for wedding couples.





Thomas

Thomas Ferrick—Dance Instructor

Thomas has trained in all styles of Ballroom dancing with a focus on Smooth, Rhythm and Club styles. He trained and danced at ballroom studios and colleges all around the Bay Area before settling down with The Professional Ballroom Teachers Academy of Sacramento. He is currently working on getting his DVIDA Certification. Thomas began teaching at college clubs in 2009 and volunteered at conventions around Northern California. As he began to do Ballroom dancing competitively, he consistently placed within the top 3 in his divisions in the collegiate circuit such as Berkeley Classic and Stanford Cardinal Classic. In 2013 Thomas was certified by the American Dancewheels Foundation to teach wheelchair ballroom dancing, making him the only instructor to hold such certification in the Sacramento area.
